Richard Wilson OBE is a multi award winning actor,
theatre and television director, author and broadcaster. His extensive acting
career includes playing Victor Meldrew in the hugely popular BBC sitcom One
Foot in the Grave, Gaius in the current BBC drama Merlin, Malvolio in Twelfth
Night for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Vanya in Uncle Vanya at the
Traverse Theatre. His many films
include A Passage to India and Prick Up Your Ears.
Richard’s theatre direction includes Rainbow Kiss for the
Royal Court and he won the TMA Best Director Award for Mr Kolpert. Richard is
an Associate Director of Sheffield Theatres directing That Face to excellent
reviews in the inaugural season under Artistic Director Daniel Evans. He will
be talking about his life and career, his books and his work with Sheffield
Theatres.
