Footage of David Tennant's movie Nativity 2 screened from today at Cannes
The Cannes Film Festival opens today (16 May) and footage from David Tennant's forthcoming movie Nativity 2 The Second Coming will be screened there.

The Cannes Film Festival is the most well known film festival in the world but, along with the movie premières which make headlines in the newspapers, a large part of Cannes is devoted to the business side of movies as distributors view upcoming movies in order to decide whether to distribute them in their own markets.

David Tennant filmed Nativity 2 during October, November and December last year and the movie has a release date of 23rd November. It is still in post-production but Moviehouse Entertainment (an independent film sales company) will be showing footage of the movie in the LERINS Stand R1 at Cannes.

Moviehouse are show casing nine movies at Cannes but Nativity 2 is the only movie with just footage. Most of the movies they are selling either have screenings or trailers available.

Last year David Tennant's movie The Decoy Bride was shown at Cannes but was unfortunately only picked up by a couple of distributors. With the success of the original Nativity movie it is likely that demand for Nativity 2 will be quite high.

Unfortunately fans can not just go along and watch this footage as Cannes is limited to industry professionals only.

Cannes continues until Sunday 27th May.

Battery charges against Gerard Butler dropped

And so it ends:

A judge has dropped a misdemeanor battery charge against Gerard Butler.

Superior Court spokeswoman Mary Hearn says the charge was dismissed at a hearing Tuesday after the actor completed community service.

Butler could have faced up to six months in jail if convicted. His attorney, Blair Berk, declined to comment.

City prosecutors say the Scottish-born star of "300" had a run-in with a photographer on Oct. 7, 2008 after leaving a premiere party for the film "RocknRolla."

His manager has said Butler was forced to have his driver stop the car after the photographer sped through red lights and almost struck two pedestrians.

City Attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan (Mah-tel-JAN') says prosecutors are "satisfied" with the outcome. [Yahoo! Movies]

Henry Ian Cusick settles harassment suit

TMZ reported the story earlier today:

Cusick -- who plays Desmond Hume on "Lost" -- has settled a sexual harassment lawsuit with a former production staffer who sued him back in April for allegedly grabbing and touching her inappropriately.

The woman sued Cusick, ABC and a Hawaiian production company. Her lawyer tells us she has settled with all the defendants and the terms are confidential.

I honestly, don't know what to make of this. I hate speculation so here are the facts that have surfaced so far:

Henry Ian Cusick, who plays Desmond on the show "Lost," is being sued for sexual harassment.

Still developing.

EDIT; According to a lawsuit filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, Chelsea Stone claims that while working on the show, Cusick placed his hand on her buttocks and caressed the back of her body while making moaning sounds.

She also claims Cusick "placed his face on top of [her] breasts, moving his face from side to side." He then squeezed her breasts with his hands.

According to the lawsuit, approximately twelve days after this went down, Stone was let go. ABC and Grass Skirt Productions are also named as defendants. She is seeking unspecified damages.

Cusick's rep had no comment.
