Craig Ferguson at Carnegie Hall

Craig Ferguson hosted two sold-out shows in New York at Carngie Hall on Saturday. The folks over at Robot Skeleton Army News have collected tons of photos of Craig performing (thanks to Les for the link). RSA News also lists a schedule for more of Craig's appearances:

  • Nov 5 Balboa Theater, San Diego, CA
  • Nov 6 Fox Performing Arts Center, Riverside, CA
  • Nov 20 Polk Theater, Nashville TN
  • Dec 3 Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio CA
Also on Craig’s calendar is an appearance on stage for a Conversation with Lewis Black at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles at 7pm on Tuesday, November 2nd. That is also Election Day, so they’ll have plenty to talk about. And Lewis will be appearing on the Late Late Show that same night… so they’ll tape the LLS in the afternoon, do the live event in the evening and then the show will air late that night.

A short clip of Craig's performance:

Thanks so much again to Les for the heads up on Craig's show.

Gerard Butler co-producing series for Starz

.
Gerard Butler will be producing Pinkerton, with 24 creator, Bob Cochran. Starz already has a pilot script for the 8-10 hour show run, but casting hasn't been reported yet. Pinkerton will focus on Scottish-born officer Allan Pinkerton, who founded the first detective agency in the United States:
Cochran is excited about the project and praises Pinkerton's impressive tactics in guarding Abraham Lincoln during his 1861 inauguration and preventing an assassination attempt on the 16th U.S. President in Baltimore.

"He was an amazing guy - he took part in all the great sweeping events of the 19th century," Cochran said.

Pinkerton aka "the spy master of the North" during the Civil War emigrated to America in his early 20s. He eventually served as the head of the Union Intelligence Service, which later became the U.S. Secret Service. [MacKenzie Wilson]

Kevin McKidd directs 'Grey's Anatomy' webisodes

The first of the six Grey's Anatomy webisodes aired on ABC.com last Thursday. Many of the six webisodes were directed by Kevin McKidd, and will air online every Thursday until November 18.
"They're based around a new PR consultant's power struggle with Dr. Richard Webber [James Pickens, Jr.], who is trying to turn the image of the hospital around," explains McKidd. When the PR rep advises the hospital to produce a corporate sizzle reel, they search for the perfect on-camera representative "with disastrous results," says McKidd, who will pop up in the series along with Pickens, Jesse Williams (Jackson) and Sarah Drew (April). "I ended up directing two I'm in, which was a challenge and quite weird." [TVGuide.com via Kevin McKidd Online]

Here's the first webisode directed by Kevin McKidd entitled "Message of Hope". You can also watch it over at ABC.com.

Trailer for 'The Tempest' unveiled

The first official trailer for Julie Taymor's adaptation of The Tempest is now available. The film stars Alan Cumming as Sebastian, and the cast also includes Helen Mirren, Djimon Hounsou, David Strathairn, Alfred Molina, Russell Brand, Chris Cooper, and Ben Whishaw.

"In Julie Taymor's version of 'The Tempest,' the gender of Prospero has been switched to Prospera. Going back to the 16th or 17th century, women practicing the magical arts of alchemy were often convicted of witchcraft. In Taymor's version, Prospera is usurped by her brother and sent off with her four-year daughter on a ship. She ends up on an island; it's a tabula rasa: no society, so the mother figure becomes a father figure to Miranda. This leads to the power struggle and balance between Caliban and Prospera; a struggle not about brawn, but about intellect."

The Tempest was mostly shot in Hawaii and opens on December 10 in the US.

Gerard Butler, Ewan McGregor, David Tennant among Glamour.com's most stylish Brits

Glamour UK polled 25,000 people and Gerard Butler, Ewan McGregor, and David Tennant were included on the list of Best Dressed British Men.

No 24: David Tennant

His Style: David Tennant’s presence on this list needs little explanation – he has already bagged the title of Scotland’s Most Stylist Man thanks to the scruffy Converse/English Tweed combo that he works so well.

No 10: Ewan McGregor

His Style: A generation of teenagers tried to emulate Ewan’s Trainspotting street grunge in the 90s. Thank god those days are over! Now you’re more likely to find the star in riding leather, designer jeans and, occasionally, a kilt.

No 2: Gerard Butler

His Style: This cheeky Scot boasts a “devil-may-care” attitude when it comes to fashion. "It's amazing how much time and effort it takes for me to look rumpled," he says. Yes but, boy, does he look good.
