'Bounty Hunter' European premieres + vote for MTV Movie Award nominees

MTV is giving the public the chance to choose the nominees for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. You have to register to vote, and voting ends April 9. Gerard Butler is up for Best Villain, Best Ass Kicking Star, and Global Superstar. The following films are also up for nominations: Law Abiding Citizen (Best WTF Moment, Best Villain), The Bounty Hunter (Best Kiss), The Ugly Truth (Best Kiss). Happy belated birthday Gerard Butler

I missed Gerry's birthday. Again. Last year I was in the country and this year I got bogged down by writing assignments. Anyway, I hope he had a wonderful 40th birthday last Friday. He was on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross for his birthday which you can watch below. The episode will air on BBC America on Friday, November 20 in the US.

Public screening for 'Law Abiding Citizen' added in Glasgow

The public screening for Law Abiding Citizen starts at 8pm on Sunday, November 15 at Cineworld, Renfrew Street and will include an introduction by Gerard Butler. Just go here to buy a ticket to the event.

Gerard Butler nominated for People's Choice Award

Gerard Butler has been nominated for a People's Choice Award for favorite Action Star. More than 18 million votes were cast online to choose the nominees in 35 categories. You can vote here for the winners. Queen Latifah will host the People's Choice Awards ceremony at the Nokia Theater and the show will air live on CBS on January 6.

Lost, starring Henry Ian Cusick is also nominated for TV drama and best TV sci-fi/fantasy

In other news, the Glasgow premiere of Law Abiding Citizen takes place on Sunday, November 15 at Cineworld Renfrew Street. Doors open at 6:30pm with arrivals starting at 6:45pm. The film starts playing at 7:15pm.

Gerard is set to make some TV appearances in the UK on November 17 on GMTV and The Paul O'Grady Show.

Gerard has also revealed that he chose Glasgow for the European premiere of Law Abiding Citizen as a way to thank his fans:

He revealed the news in an internet chat with fans.

He said: "Maybe I will see some of you at the premiere of Law Abiding Citizen because we are having our European premiere in Glasgow.

"Get merry and drink. I wish I could but I don't. I hope to see you all soon. Have a good time."

A spokesman for production firm Momentum Pictures said: "It hasn't been announced officially yet but the premiere will be on November 15 at Cineworld, Renfrew Street." [The Sunday Mail]

Law Abiding Citizen has now earned $51.4 million at the US box office after jumping from 4th place to 3rd place over the weekend.

Gerard Butler talks new Evil Twins project

Gerard did an interview over at Film School Rejects as part of the Law Abiding Citizen press tour. The highlight of the interview was Gerry's revelation that his production company, Evil Twins is working an a new project:

And what is Evil Twins working on now?

There’s a few different projects that we’ve been working on, but there’s one in particular – it’s a movie called Slide about a former baseball player who goes back to try and patch things up with his child and estranged wife and ends up coaching the kid’s baseball team. He becomes the subject of fascination and longer by every bored house wife in the town. And it’s him trying to survive that while trying to patch things up with his kid. I think we’re going to have GM direct the movie. Hopefully. We’re in talks with him, and he’s very much up for directing it so we’ll what happens there.

In other movie news, Gamer will debut on DVD and Blu-ray in the US on January 19, 2010.

Gerard is one of the winners in the Hollywood Film Festival. He had the highest percentage of votes at 25%.

'Law Abiding Citizen' interview + vote for the People's Choice Awards nominees

Gerard is also among the possible nominees for Favorite Action Star for this year's People's Choice Awards. The votes so far are just for the five nominees. Voting for the actual winners

"I'm very extreme, so sometimes I keep it in my head to train a lot and other times I just abandon the whole thing, especially when I travel. Sometimes I get into traveling mode and pop off to New York or Scotland and London or even into Iceland and India. When I'm doing that, it's very difficult to keep up my fitness regime. So then I just start eating like a pig until I think, 'OK, it's time to swing the other way again.' I'd say it's a constant battle."
