David Tennant's 'Masterpiece Contemporary' debut and trailers for 'SJA' and 'St. Trinian's'

Last night was David's first night hosting the show and there's video below of him presenting Endgame. He'll present the next episode, Place of Execution on November 1 on PBS. Place of Execution is a two part drama starring Juliet Stevenson and Greg Wise.



You can check out the trailer for part one of The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith. The first episode airs on Thursday, October 29 on BBC One.



David Tennant News Updates
reports that the official trailer for St. Trinian's II: The Legend of Fritton's Gold will start playing in UK cinemas this week. The official trailer will also reportedly be online soon. The film opens on December 18 in the UK.

Update: There will be an exclusive preview of the Doctor Who Christmas special on BBC Children in Need on BBC One on Friday, November 20 at 7pm. You can go here if you'd like to support the cause.

PBS promos: Henry Ian Cusick in Darwin's Darkest Hour and David Tennant hosts Masterpiece Contemporary

PBS unveiled a promo a few days ago for Darwin's Darkest Hour starring Henry Ian Cusick. The two-hour film will air on NOVA on PBS in the US on October 6.



PBS also has a preview for the fall 2009 season of Masterpiece Contemporary featuring David Tennant. The season will include a showing of Collision starring Scottish actor Douglas Henshall which will air on Sundays November 15 and 22.

Schedule for Masterpiece Contemporary announced - includes Douglas Henshall's Collision

David Tennant will be hosting the new season of Masterpiece Contemporary for PBS and Tennant News shares news on the season's schedule and more details on the dramas David Tennant will introduce:

Endgame
October 25, 2009 at 9pm
A real-life political thriller about the negotiations that led to the end of apartheid in South Africa and the release of Nelson Mandela. Seemingly doomed to failure, the secret talks show that peace is possible. Starring William Hurt, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Jonny Lee Miller. Watch a clip of Endgame here.

Place of Execution
November 1-8, 2009 at 9pm
A 13-year-old girl vanishes from an English village, and the mystery deepens 40 years later when a journalist arrives to make a film about it. What she finds shatters the lives of all involved. Juliet Stevenson and Greg Wise star in this thriller based on the novel by best-selling author Val McDermid.

Collision



November 15-22, 2009 at 9pm
The investigation of a multi-vehicle road accident unravels the secrets of the complete strangers involved, revealing government cover-ups, smuggling and murder. A remarkable cast, including Phil Davis and Paul McGann, portrays the stories of ten different people who share a single defining moment. Scripted by Anthony Horowitz (Foyle's War).

Collision also stars Scottish actor Douglas Henshall in the role of Tolin.

David Tennant on the PBS panel at TCA

David Tennant was on the PBS Masterpiece Contemporary panel at TCA on August 2. He's set to begin hosting Masterpiece Contemporary with the series' October 25th premiere in the US. During the PBS panel, it was revealed that David Tennant's performance in Hamlet will be aired in the US in 2010, on the PBS program Great Performances.
