Wanted is number one around the world

Got this piece of great news:

Beaten by a friendly robot domestically, Wanted can take solace in dominating the foreign marketplace for the weekend ending Sunday, June 29.

According to media reports, the comic book adaptation took in a solid $33 million in its first week in foreign release, opening day-and-date on 1,922 screens in 22 markets.

Given director Timur Bekmambetov's blockbuster pedigree, Wanted had its biggest international opening in Russia, where the James McAvoy/Angelina Jolie vehicle made $11 million. Wanted added an additional $8 million in its United Kingdom opening.

In the United States, of course, Wanted finished behind the Pixar adventure Wall-E, but that robot romance only opened in six foreign markets, on 400 screens in Latin America, making $3.1 million foreign. It will continue its international roll-out in weeks to come.

LOL. I was really happy when I found the photo because it's a promotional photo that I've never seen. It's not as awesome as James walking around shirtless in Wanted, but I still love it!

  3. In truth NO PHOTO of him is as good as watching him 'in action'...

Is it too soon to start hoping for a bit LONGER version of that shirtless scene on the DVD ?? (I also love the shot of his bare back when he's looking out the window.... can you say 'smitten' !)

  4. The shirtless scene was perfect. I wonder who the genius was who told James to be shirtless AND wet? Maybe they'll have a behind the scenes feature on the DVD about them making that scene. That would be just too perfect!

  5. Here's the thing.... You know I get your posts and comments updates by e-mail? And I most often check my mail early in the AM (EST)

The phrase 'shirtless and wet' as applied to J.M. can seriously interfere with brain function at 7 A.M. ! (Anyway, I'm back to 'contemplate the thought' further - now that it's evening~!)

PS - I'm enjoying your Blog... can you tell ?? :-)
