New movie projects
From Los Angeles Times:
Alan Cumming has been pretty busy lately.

The Tony-winner and Emmy-nominee's role as slick campaign manager Eli Gold on "The Good Wife" continues to be meaty, with the series recently picked up for a fifth season. He's set to star in a one-man "Macbeth" that opens on Broadway later this month (more on that shortly). And now he has several film projects in the works.
Cumming tells The Times that he's come aboard to star in "First-Class Man," the long-developed Roger Spottiswoode film about an Indian prodigy who makes the move from his native country to Cambridge, England. (Cumming quipped he'll be playing the Indian boy, though given his "Macbeth" turn—he’s playing 15 different parts, including Lady Macbeth -- we wouldn’t be so sure he’s joking.)

Meanwhile, Cumming says he’s on board to start in the wartime Dutch drama “Dunes of Overveen,” an indie project co-written by gay activist David Mixner and the British expat writer Richard Grant, with the project seeking a director.

Brave sequel on the cards

Sequel to Disney-Pixar’s Brave on the cards
A sequel to Brave is on the cards. Picture: AP
A sequel to the blockbuster Disney-Pixar movie Brave is on the cards - once the film-makers find a good enough storyline.
The Oscar-winning director of the film set in the Scottish Highlands signalled a follow-up was likely thanks to the success and marketing campaign which came out of last year’s fantasy adventure.
And Mark Andrews said he would be keen to add a host of new characters and other Scottish actors to the line-up to join the likes of Kelly Macdonald, Emma Thompson and Kevin McKidd.
However he admitted that much of the humour in the film had been lost on American audiences, who only understand around half of the jokes.
Andrews was speaking during a visit to Glasgow to kick off a two-week mentoring project for students from across Scotland.

Richard Madden: 'Game of Thrones' season 3 interview, and 'Cinderella' rumours

'Game of Thrones' season 3 interview
There are times when the epic journey that his character, Robb Stark, has embarked on in Game of Thrones has felt a little similar to Richard Madden’s own experience working on the acclaimed HBO show. You might say that they’ve grown up together.
On screen, Madden plays Robb Stark who, when still a very young man, is chosen to lead his people after his father Ned (played by Sean Bean) is murdered at the hands of the Starks’ bitter enemies, The Lannisters.
The warring clans are at the heart of a brutal battle for control of Westeros, the fictional land created by George R. R. Martin in his brilliantly imagined series of best selling fantasy novels, A Song of Ice and Fire. Martin has now completed five volumes and a further two are planned.
Madden was just 21 when he landed the much sought after role in the show, which is based on Martin’s books, and he recently completed the third season. He has, he says, come of age as an actor during that time, mirroring his character, Robb, who develops into an assured, charismatic leader as the story unfolds.

closing date: 6 May 2013

Eureka Entertainment have announced the release of DEAD HEAD, the controversial four-part BBC noir drama written by Howard Brenton, available on DVD from 15 April 2013.

- Classic BBC Noir Drama available for the very first time in the world

- Superb cast of acting talent who have since gone on to become household names i.e. Denis Lawson, Don Henderson, George Baker, Simon Callow & Lindsay Duncan

London based petty crook, Eddie Cass (Denis Lawson) agrees to pick up a package and courier it across the capital. When nobody answers the door at the drop off address Eddie opens the package and finds a woman's severed head in a hatbox. He panics and dumps it in the River Thames. Returning home Cass is kidnapped by the mysterious Eldridge (George Baker) and his heavies who inform Eddie that he has been framed for the murder. The hatbox belonged to his ex-wife and his fingerprints are all over it. Eddie panics and goes off the rails - boozing and sleeping rough. Eventually he ends up at his ex-wife Dana's house, played by Lindsay Duncan. Whilst he sleeps there, his former partner informs on him, and Eddie once again has to go on the run. The next morning the newspaper headlines reveal the discovery of the gruesome hatbox. Eddie's own private atom bomb has gone off...

Written in 50-minute episodes by playwright Howard Brenton and directed by Rob Walker the series has a top-notch cast including Denis Lawson (Bleak House, Holby City, Perfect Sense) as Eddie Cass, Don Henderson , George Baker (The Spy Who Loved Me, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Hopscotch), Simon Callow (Amadeus, Four Weddings and a Funeral) and Lindsay Duncan (Rome, Under the Tuscan Sun)

Gary Hollywood: video interview, and Disc-Golf launch

Video: Mrs Brown's Boys star Gary Hollywood speaks to Bev Lyons on his well-loved comedy role
The Scot is Dino Doyle in Brendan O’Carroll’s comedy, which plays to a sell-out crowd on a five-night run at Glasgow’s SECC.

He's been tripped up on stage before a theatre audience of thousands and been slapped with a tea towel by his co-star but Gary Hollywood wouldn’t swap his role in Mrs Brown’s Boys for anything.
The Scot is Dino Doyle in Brendan O’Carroll’s comedy, which plays to a sell-out crowd on a five-night run at Glasgow’s SECC. And the 33-year-old revealed there is never a dull moment.
As he prepared to go on stage for the first time at the Glasgow venue last night, he laughed: “With TV there’s a lot of stoppie starties and with theatre it’s a loose cannon.
“Brendan goes off on a rant or a tangent and there are a lot of ad libs involved.
“The show is always completely different no matter how many times you’ve seen it.
“You don’t know what is coming and how many times you will be slapped with a tea towel, have your nipples tweaked or be tripped up.
“Just last week Brendan decided he’d trip me up as I was exiting the stage and I ended up tumbling and banging my head off the door. I was thinking, ‘He won’t do that again.’ How wrong I was.”

The star of Mrs Brown's Boys joined British Disc- Golf champion Derek Robins and local children for a preview of the course at Rosshall Park and Gardens, Glasgow.
Anyone can try the sport, which, like traditional golf, sees competitors try to complete each hole in as few shots as possible. But, rather than hitting a ball, players throw a disc or frisbee.
