Gerard Butler: 'Playing for Keeps' gala screening, and charity support

Gerard Butler Promotes "Playing for Keeps" in London
Hamming it up for the London audience, Gerard Butler attended the Gala screening of "Playing for Keeps" at Apollo Piccadilly Circus on Thursday (December 13).

The "300" star looked handsome in a black suit with a dark gray dress shirt and burgundy tie while he drummed up some playful poses for the photographers.

Earlier this week, the 43-year-old actor joined Sarah Jessica Parker to co-host the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway.

Speaking about the gig and the big winner, Gerard stated, "I’m deeply honored to have been asked to be a part of such a remarkable celebration of humanity. The European Union has shown the world what is possible when forces unite in peace. It’s a joy to stand alongside these magnificent artists and celebrate the EU and its contribution to world peace.”

Gerard Butler shows his softer side

He's best known as Hollywood hardest working lothario.
But Gerard Butler showed off his softer side as he spent time with ill, young friend Abella Wyss at a charity screening for his new film Playing for Keeps on Wednesday.
The Scottish heartthrob made the poorly young girl's night as he gave her a hug ahead of the Soccer of Hope special screening in aid of the Los Angeles Children's Hospital at the ArcLight Hollywood.

Abella, who suffers from a rare genetic blood disorder, has struck up a bond with the 300 star who scooped her up in his arms at the screening.

The daughter of Gerard's friend Oliver Wyss has spent a lot of time with the A-lister over the last few months as he has been championing the young girl's charity.
The single star surprised onlookers by showing his caring nature, proving that there's a lot more to the actor than hit films and a string of conquests.

Green Band trailer for Movie 43
We saw a red band trailer for Movie 43 earlier this month which contained profanity, boobs, and about 30 familiar faces ranging from Gerard Butler, Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Naomi Watts, Emma Stone and Liev Schreiber.

Now Relativity Media have released a regular green band trailer which still contains some of the cleaner material, but there’s some extra stuff thrown in there too. Still no plot in sight, but I don’t think this is a movie that aimed for one in the first place.
Watch the trailer below:

Gerard Butler to star in Chetnik movie?
Blic reports that Scottish lawyer-turned-actor Gerard Butler could star in a movie recalling the sacrifice that Chetnik resistance fighters made in 1944 when they rescued hundreds of US airmen from the Nazis.

Serbian producer Marko Mišković is currently negotiating with Hollywood partners to produce the movie about this little-known event which, if produced, would surely cast new light on the tremendous contribution made by Chetnik fighters to the Allied cause. Villagers from Pranjani – where the airlift for Operation Halyard was staged – risked their own lives and shared what precious little they had to save the US airmen.

Gerard was critically acclaimed in Phantom of the Opera which was followed with leading roles in chick-flick PS I Love You and  Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla. He also starred alongside Ralph Fiennes in a movie production of Shakepeare’s Coriolanus which was filmed on location in Belgrade.  The actor is said to have loved his time in Belgrade and there are rumours of a romantic attachment he forme with Serbian actress Martina Rajić.
