Craig Roberts (Submarine) and Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later) star in the electric new British romantic thriller Comes A Bright Day, debuting on DVD on August 6 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

In writer director Simon Aboud’s coming of age love story a chance encounter becomes a chance for love when Sam (Craig Roberts) meets Mary (Imogen Poots) and the two find themselves the hostage of a high stakes armed robbery at one of London’s most exclusive jewellers.

Comes A Bright Day also stars Timothy Spall (The King’s Speech), Kevin McKidd (Trainspotting) and Josef Atlin (Eastern Promises).

The DVD is packed with bonus materials, including a photo gallery and featurettes providing insights from cast and crew on the making of the film.

Love blossoms in the most unusual circumstances when young bellboy Sam (Craig Roberts, Submarine) and beautiful shop assistant Mary (Imogen Poots, 28 Weeks Later) are kidnapped by brutal armed robbers (Kevin McKidd, Trainspotting; Josef Altin, Eastern Promises) intent on stealing a £1 million brooch.

Taken hostage along with belligerent shop owner Charlie (Timothy Spall, The King’s Speech), the young couple find themselves falling for each other on this terrifying ‘first date’.

This tense and stylish British thriller proves that sometimes extreme pressure can reveal a hidden gem.

Soda picks up Comes a Bright Day

Soda Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment have picked up romantic thriller Comes a Bright Day from Intandem for UK theatrical and home ent release, respectively.

Timothy Spall, Craig Roberts, Imogen Poots and Kevin McKidd star in the story of a jewellery heist in Mayfair gone wrong. Simon Aboud directs and Christine Alderson produces the film that got its world première in the Generation section of the Berlin Film Festival.

The UK première is set for June 26.

Kevin McKidd in romantic heist film “Comes A Bright Day”

Intandem Films has snapped up international rights to Comes A Bright Day, the new British love story/thriller starring Craig Roberts and Imogen Poots.

Revered British fashion designer Paul Smith is dressing the lead cast for the film. Shooting begins next week on location around Mayfair and at London’s Elstree Studios. The film is being made through Smudge Films, Matador Pictures, Lost Tribe Productions and Ipso Facto Films.

Comes A Bright Day is written and directed by Simon Aboud. Roberts (Submarine) and Poots (28 Weeks Later) play hostages during a Mayfair jewellery store heist. The cast also features Kevin McKidd as the robber and Timothy Spall as the store owner.
