Two Scottish actors, Gerard Butler and James McAvoy were recently nominated in the best actor category at the Sony Ericsson Empire Awards. You can go here to vote, but you have to be registered at Empire On-Line to vote. You can just go here to register. Voting ends on Feb. 25 2008. According to The London Paper the awards show will air on ITV2 in the UK on Mon., March 10 at 9pm.

WOW - that's a TOUGH one! I am just delighted though, that Gerard is getting SOME recognition for his incredible work in '300' !!

If 'put to it' though, I'd have to say that James' performance as 'Robbie' would come out on top, simply for the flawless depiction of such a wide range of emotions.
I had to vote for James too. Gerard was the perfect leader in 300; I'd follow him anywhere, but James was just brilliant in Atonement. He made me cry so hard at the end of that movie.
