Alan Cumming on Prop 8

Here's a little from his blog entry yesterday:

Yes, Obama may have won, but hatred and bigotry still abound... Following up on the protests in California and beyond, Wednesday there will be a protest at the Mormon Temple in Manhatttan. Tens of thousands of our brothers and sisters are in the streets in California and Salt Lake City and around the country protesting the votes banning same-sex marriage in California. Join them! Make your voices heard right here in New York City. We will tell the Mormon Church how we feel about its relentless campaign to condemn and control our lives.

Go here to read more of Alan's blog entry on Prop 8 and also he wrote a very touching post on November 7, 2008 about becoming an American citizen so check that out as well.

Another McDreamy?

USA Today has an interview with Kevin McKidd about his role on Grey's Anatomy. He gives a little more information about his character Owen Hunt and the relationship his character will have with Cristina Yang.

Could there be another McDreamy or McSteamy in the making?

Scottish actor Kevin McKidd, 35, plays Owen Hunt, the love interest of Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) on ABC's Grey's Anatomy, and things start to heat up between the two tonight.

"His character is an old-fashioned tortured hero," says series creator Shonda Rhimes. "I call him Heathcliff when we're talking about him in the writers' room.

"This season, all the way around, is our no-holds-barred season. We're not holding anything back. Owen Hunt is definitely apart of that."

We caught up with the actor on a break from taping an upcoming episode.

You can read the rest of the article here.

James McAvoy honored by arts academy

I thought this was great news:

Actor James McAvoy is to be honoured by his former drama school, it was
announced. The Bafta-winning star will receive a Fellowship from the Royal
Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) in Glasgow next month. Acclaimed
British actor, producer and director Lord Attenborough will also be honoured at
the graduation ceremony on November 20. McAvoy, 29, who is best
known for his film roles in The Last King of Scotland and Atonement, as well as
the television series Shameless, recently backed a campaign opposing cuts at the
drama school. The honour is being given in recognition of his support to
the Academy.

The Scot graduated from the RSAMD in 2000. RSAMD
principal John Wallace said: "James was very active in a huge campaign involving
the academy and he has been very involved in the academy since he left."We are
absolutely delighted that he has accepted the invitation and are looking forward
to seeing him next month."

Lord Attenborough, who received two Academy
Awards in 1983 for the film Gandhi, will conduct a master class for staff and
students during his visit. He will then receive an Honorary Doctorate of
Drama."We are also delighted that Lord Attenborough will come to work with our
students and are saluting his contribution to our culture, society and economy,"
Mr Wallace added.

I also thought I'd congratulate Barack Obama and all of America on his historic win last night. It was amazing.

If you don't vote, you're a moron

Those are not my words. Those are Craig Ferguson's words. He's talking to fence sitters like me. The one thing the American election has inspired me to do is to decide to register to vote in my own country. Anyway, Americans go vote tomorrow if you haven't already. Here is Craig in his own words:

Weekend box office for RocknRolla

RocknRolla starring Gerard Butler opened outside of the top ten films at the US box office with $1.7million in 826 theaters. Considering the lack of promotion I'm pretty amazed it even made $1million. Has anyone gotten the chance to see it yet?
