Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell to team up again?

I wrote a post about this movie nearly a year ago, and now there is finally a little news about it:
EWAN McGREGOR and Colin Farrell are being tipped for the leading roles in a comedy film about the Edinburgh body snatchers Burke and Hare.
Ealing Studios is planning a film about the notorious serial killers, and John Landis – director of An American Werewolf in London and The Blues Brothers – is to direct it, it was reported.

The script is written by Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft, who also wrote Ealing's schoolgirl comedy St Trinian's, which was a hit last year.
Okay, that isn't much except now instead of Ewan being teamed up with Jude Law, he'll star with his Cassandra's Dream co-star Colin Farrell. Makes you wonder if this film is ever going to happen. There's something about a period comedy about serial killers that still has me intrigued though.

  1. Hi - back again from another few months of household disasters/misery/bad luck ! Computer is working.... for now!

I've missed your news - glad to find you still hard at it ! :-)

    Quick Catch Up --

"RocknRolla" was FANTASTIC... and Gerry, adorable ! I was upset it only played two weeks.

"Wanted" on DVD next week -- OOooooo I can't wait ! (James looks amazing in those most recent photos you had... I need to look up what films he has lined up!)

"Pride and Glory" - too intense and gloomy to watch more than once, but Colin sure was georgous in his police uniform.

Question - Any Scots in 'Twilight'? That's the BIG THING at the theater now, and I have to admit I'm lovin' it.

    Take Care -

  2. Hey, welcome back. I hope these last few months were not too hard on you.

I have been dying to watch RocknRolla but it isn't coming out in my country so I have to wait for the DVD. So frustrating. Why didn't the studio let the movie play longer, and in more markets?

James has a play called Three Days of Rain coming up in London. What I wouldn't give for a plane ticket...

There are no Scots in Twilight, but there is one American actor in it named Jackson Rathbone who almost decided to go to the Royal Scottish Academy, so that's Twilight's Scottish connection. My sister is a huge Twilight fan, has read all the books, and is very excited for the film.

  3. Thanks for the kind Welcome.

Sorry you had to miss RocknRolla - it only played with us for 2 weeks.... honestly I don't think most American's 'get' British humor - but I totally loved it!

James... on stage.... (sigh) Guess I can hope it will move to Broadway, which sometimes happens!

I hope you get to see Twilight soon - though NOT Scots, some of the Vampire are attractive enough to be Scottish ! It's a great romance story.

  4. I'm glad you enjoyed RocknRolla. A friend who lives in Britain saw it and said they enjoyed it as well. I'm a big Guy Ritchie fan because I love Snatch and having Gerry in it just makes me even more excited.

I've been avoiding Twilight actually because my sister is such a huge fan of the books and Edward Cullen and we're constantly bickering about whether Twilight books are good or bad. She'll force me to watch the film, I'm sure :)

  5. Whatever you think of the Twilight books, or Rob Patterson, or Vampires in general... I'll tell you what I've told many of our movie customers who were unsure about the film.

If you are female, and you have EVER had a CRUSH --- EVER in your life, you will appreciate this film!

The guys (boys or men) are usually a bit bored by the "Romeo & Juliet" 1st half of the film, but enjoy the action in the 2nd half.
