Ewan McGregor's dilemma

According to the Sunday Mail, Ewan McGregor is at the centre of a tug of war between two rival Scots films. Oscar winning writer/director Peter Capaldi wants to cast the actor in the upcoming comedy The Young Pretender, while producers of the period drama Mary Queen of Scots want to cast him opposite Scarlett Johansson, as the Earl of Bothwell, the third and final husband of the Scottish queen. Ewan however, has previously stated he would star in The Young Pretender. Here's a summary of the comedy from imdb (which actually credits the film as The Great Pretender) :

In 1938, two producers hire Hollywood star Leslie Grangely (McGregor) to play Bonnie Prince Charlie (also McGregor) in a movie about the 18th century Jacobite Rebellion in Scotland. Soon afterward, a drunk Grangely disappears and the producers are forced to find a replacement. They trick a lookalike extra into playing the role of Bonnie Prince Charlie, "The Great Pretender."

Both films are to be shot this summer. You can vote in the poll for which film you'd rather see Ewan cast in.
