Ewan McGregor delves into Trainspotting prequel “Skagboys” 
Hollywood star Ewan McGregor has revealed he is devouring Irvine Welsh’s latest novel – which follows a younger version of his famous Trainspotting character.
Skagboys, a prequel to Welsh’s 1993 book Trainspotting, follows an early 20s version of Mark Renton as he changes from a “daft young guy” out for a buzz on drugs, to a total junkie.

Pumped up Ewan McGregor goes through the pain barrier as he works out for his latest role as a big screen tough guy. The 42-year-old Scot beefed up his biceps for Australian crime thriller Son of a Gun. The Scots plays Australia’s public enemy number one, who takes on a young protege after he is sent to prison.
The actor hired personal trainer Brett Smith to get him in shape. Brett said: “He wanted the guns – the big arms – so he had to put on a bit of muscle and strength.”
Ewan tweeted his delight at his transformation, saying: “Brett, thanks for all the sessions in your gym.”

Colourful characters and goodfellas will find security is tight at a boxing match promoted by Mick Gatto because the ringside buzz is that actor Ewan McGregor is the special guest.
Australian heavyweight champion Lucas ''Big Daddy'' Browne has muscled into acting to play a bad dude in Son of a Gun, the thriller McGregor is filming in Western Australia, and their friendship led to an invitation for great the Scot to attend the match on April 28. The cast will move to Melbourne later this month for filming, so McGregor will take in many sights once here.
