Soccer Aid update (Gerard Butler, James McAvoy)

Soccer Aid helped raise £4.9 million for children's charity UNICEF

The fourth bi-annual charity football match - created by Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes - broke records by raising its highest amount so far, with the UK government matching all public donations pound for pound.

James McAvoy, Gerard Butler, Edward Norton, Olly Murs and Gordon Ramsay were among the celebrities taking part in this year's event, which took place at Old Trafford on May 27.

Robbie Williams, UNICEF UK Ambassador, said: "I'm still basking in the glory of England's win and so pleased that this has been the best Soccer Aid yet with almost £5 million raised for UNICEF – for children.

"Thank you so so much to everyone who donated on the night or bought a ticket to the match - we couldn't have done it without you."
