Tom Urie: future public appearances

  • Soapstar Concert
River City star, Tom Urie, was at Castle Fraser last week to launch a charity concert which is to be held a in aid of local children’s charity, Befriend a Child.

Castle Fraser will be the setting for the first ever Befriend A Soapstar Concert where actors from the nation’s favourite soaps will take to the stage to show off their musical talents, all in aid of the charity that supports vulnerable children.

At the event Tom Urie spoke about his involvement. He said: "It’s the first time I’ve been involved with this charity. I was approached to launch the event and I thought it was a fantastic idea because it offers a little bit of hope for youngsters whose lives are not what a kid’s lives should be."

The star, who plays Big Bob O’Hara and is also an accomplished singer/songwriter, will appear at the concert which will be held on Saturday, September 1. Coronation Street’s Anthony Cotton and Catherine Tyldesley, Tom Lister and Rik Makerem from Emmerdale and Jessica Wright from TOWIE are also among those that will take the stage.
