David Tennant plays Simon Cowell character in new Jonathan Ross comic book

Doctor Who actor David Tennant is to return to sci-fi after his face was used to depict a Simon Cowell-style talent show baddie in a new comic from Jonathan Ross.

The book, designed by comic fanatic Jonathan, is entitled America's Got Powers and features a classic superhero theme but with a talent show twist, the Sun reports.

David's face was used for the evil genius character, who bears comparisons to Simon Cowell due to his role on the judging panel of a fictional reality TV programme.

The ITV chatshow king told TV Biz: 'He [David] agreed to let us use his likeness in one of the characters and it looks great.
'His character is kind of the mastermind behind a brutal reality show where kids with super powers slug it out to join the only government-sanctioned super team,' he explained.

Wossy said that by using real-life actors to play the characters it makes them appear more real and that it would be really exciting for them all to appear on the big screen if Hollywood likes the look of the comic book.

Jonathan created the comic with the help of artist Bryan Hitch, who has spent many years with Marvel. Bryan was responsible for suggesting that Samuel L Jackson should be cast to play Nick Fury in the Fantastic Four films, a move Jonathan is hoping can be recreated with David Tennant, should the comic ever develop into a movie.

Jonathan Ross' second comic book America's Got Powers was released in shops on 11 April.
