Alan Cumming reveals City Secrets on Sky TV

New series takes Sky Atlantic viewers on a unique guided tour of Britain.

Satellite broadcaster Sky has announced a new eight-part series to be hosted by the Scottish actor Alan Cumming. Produced exclusively for Sky Atlantic HD, City Secrets will take viewers on a fascinating journey across the UK. City Secrets will offer an intriguing insight into both the iconic landmarks and hidden gems of the cities

As he travels to some of Britain's most influential urban areas, Cumming, known for his role in The Good Wife and films such as X-Men 2, will share his enthusiastic views as he stops off at a different city in each episode.

The Emmy-nominated host will also be joined by some famous names along the way, along with local experts who will give their insights on what makes each city special.

Celia Taylor, head of features and factual at Sky, said: "City Secrets will offer an intriguing insight into not only the iconic landmarks of the various cities, but also the hidden gems that lie off the tourist trail. It is a refreshing stretch of the legs for Sky Atlantic."

Produced by Twofour, the company behind factual shows like Richard Wilson's Best Drives and Caroline Quentin's Cornwall, City Secrets is the latest commission for Sky Atlantic following the satellite provider's commitment to increase investment in original British content.

Sky Atlantic HD is best known for its bold and captivating drama, from the award-winning Mad Men to Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire. The channel's first foray into factual programming came from Great Britain: Our Story, an epic reconstruction of the country's history told through inspiring stories of human endeavour.
