Awards campaign for 'The Last Station' gears up

The AFI Fest has announced the schedule for its festival lineup. The Last Station will be screened on Tuesday, November 3 after actor Christopher Plummer receives a tribute at the festival. Plummer's tribute event is set to take place at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Here are some details on getting free tickets for festival screenings:
Free tickets to all Festival screenings are available online at AFI.com/AFIFEST or by phone at 866-AFI-FEST beginning October 16, at the Mann Chinese 6 Theatre (6925 Hollywood Blvd.) in the Hollywood and Highland Center) beginning October 26, and on the day of scheduled screenings via Rush Lines. Early entry to all screenings can be secured by becoming a patron of the Festival and purchasing an AFI FEST Patron Pass. For more details, visit AFI.com.

Anne Thompson talks more about James McAvoy's awards campaign:
Meanwhile James McAvoy is getting a campaign for best actor in The Last Station, even though Christopher Plummer plays a volcanic Leo Tolstoy opposite likely best actress nominee Helen Mirren. That’s because Plummer’s going to push for supporting for The Last Station, saving best actor for Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. (That movie will likely do better on the awards front with its visual elements, from cinematography and production design to costumes and visual effects.)
