First look at Gerard Butler in Game

This is the first photo the studio has released of the upcoming film Game with Gerard Butler. Sorry people, it's a slow news day, and all I could dig up was one photo. Here's a description of the movie from slashfilm:

Directed By Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the two mad men behind Crank, the story takes place “in the not too distant future.” Kabel (Gerard Butler), a death row inmate, has unwittingly become a pop culture hero. Every week, millions worldwide tune in online to watch him and hundreds of other convicts battle in Slayers, an ultra-violent multi-player online game invented by technological genius Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall). To the wealthy young gamer who controls his every move, Kable is just a sim (simulation) character. To the resistance group that opposes Castle’s games as high-tech slavery, he is a critical element in their battle to take down the inventor. Caught in the crosshairs of two opposing forces and under the command of a teenager’s remote device, Kable must use his extraordinary fighting skills to escape the game, bring down Castle and overthrow the system. Game is currently scheduled for a TBA Fall 2008 release.

  1. Oh boy - my two FAVORITE 'Hot Scots' in one post ! :-)

Can't wait to see 'Jimmy Mac' - "Wanted" will be amazing I'm sure, but nothing is better than him speaking in his natural accent!

Looks like Gerry will be flexing his '300' muscle again - but I'm a bit worried - 'Game' sounds like an oddball movie that could end up in 'direct to DVD' like his Beowulf did. :-(

PS - They are already pre-selling "Wanted" tickets at the theater where I work... counting the days!

  2. Game does sound like it's going direct to DVD because of the weirdness factor. Maybe if they could get it into somewhere like Comic con they could get it into theaters.

Lucky! I want Wanted tickets! I'm not sure if it's coming out over here next week or the week after. I cannot stand the wait.
