The best Doctor Who ever?

David Tennant officially leaving Doctor Who?
The Guardian, a reputable media source in the UK, just posted an article on their front page saying that David Tennant was "confirmed" to leave Doctor Who after the 2009-2010 Specials. The text of the article follows:
"David Tennant has announced that he is vacating the Tardis and leaving the BBC's Doctor Who series at the end of next year.
Tennant's decision brings to an end his popular four-year tenure as the time lord.
The BBC confirmed that the Scottish actor will complete the filming of four special episodes to be screened this year and in early 2010, as well as 2009's Christmas special.
More details soon..."
The original link has mysteriously disappeared. But, you can see a blurb about the article on the Guardian's search site here.
So, has the Guardian jumped the gun and leaked a major story too soon? Is this proof that the story is false? What do you all think, because I would be seriously gutted if David leaves. He's just such a sexy beast.
Edited: it seems that David is leaving because Hamlet might make a move to Broadway, ala Equus. This news comes from a source on OutPost Gallifrey: "Well, we knew he was to be the Doctor until 2010 and the last special will be aired in 2010, so technically , it scorrect. However the matter of Hamlet going to Broadway seems to have been too much for David to resist. I had heard a little bit in the last few weeks that he had reconsidered and that HAMLET was the reason"
I know we've heard this speculation before, but there a few things that pretty much lead me to think this is true. First, The Guardian pulled the story, which as someone commented means that they would rather have the BBC break the story later today.
Update: It's true, David Tennant is leaving Doctor Who. I seriously feel like crying right now. I knew this was going to happen but ugh, this just feels really bad.

James McAvoy in Three Days of Rain
Atonement star James McAvoy is to appear alongside ex-EastEnder Nigel Harman in a West End revival of Richard Greenberg’s Three Days of Rain. The production will open at the Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, on February 10, 2009, following previews from January 30.
Directed by Jamie Lloyd, the show will be produced by Caro Newling for Neal Street Productions and Nick Frankfort and Tobias Round for Creative Management and Productions.
Who's excited? James McAvoy in the flesh! There is probably collective fangirl/fanboy cheering in London right now.
I haven't been able to find out much more than that yet but I'm sure there will be way more information out soon. So keep visiting for updates and I'll post new information as often as I can.

Gerard Butler being investigated by police
A slightly off topic question before I post: as someone on imdb posted, when are they going to start promoting RocknRolla in the US? We've got Guy Ritchie's face on all the tabloids, a really hot Robert Downey Jr. promoting Ritchie's upcoming Sherlock Holmes at the Scream Awards, yet no mention of RocknRolla. Someone from Warner Brothers needs to get on this. Anyway...
Under news items I wish I didn't have to post, this is probably number 1. Thought I'd keep people posted:
Source
Gerard Butler is being investigated by police after allegedly attacking a
paparazzo in Los Angeles.
Police were planning to speak to the ‘RocknRolla’ star after he reportedly
got into a fight with photographer Morgan Kreusch, leaving Kreusch with a cut lip which required
stitches and three loose teeth.
Kreusch also underwent a brain scan following the attack on the advice of
doctors.
The photographer claims he had been attempting to take a picture of Butler
as he left West Hollywood’s Crown Bar when the 38-year-old actor confronted
him.
He said: “I told him I was a photographer when he asked what I was doing.
Then he started to punch me through the open window of the car.
“He hit me hard three or four times. He was shouting, but I couldn't really
tell what he was saying because I was totally dazed. Then he went to walk
away but turned back. He kicked the car and then hit me again three or four
times.”
Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Ana Aguirre confirmed the
department will be questioning Butler on charges of misdemeanor battery.

Where is Kevin McKidd on Grey's Anatomy?
Here's the answer:
SourceMaj. Owen Hunt made quite an impression in the premiere of Season Five. Now it looks like he's coming back, according to this Grey's Anatomy spoiler on E! today ...
Q: Where is "Major Hottie," aka Kevin McKidd, on Grey's Anatomy? I was hoping he was going to be a regular. Do you know if he's coming back? Please, please, please let him come back!
A: Hey, wow, look at that. My calendar says fall sweeps begin Thursday, October 30. How weird. I wonder why I just noticed that? All I know is I hope Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Major Hottie are as on as I hear they are, and that certainly would be a good time to kick off a romance!

Gerard Butler's good news and bad news
Elizabeth Rappe from MTV goes on to speculate:
Now for the good news: RocknRolla had the highest theater average in its limited American release with $6,053 or $42,372 at seven theaters. Since opening last Wednesday RocknRolla has earned over $101,300. If the film keeps making money, then hopefully Warner Bros. will take the hint and release it in more than 800 theaters in the US.Could the shifting storylines be part of the problem? When the film was first announced, as part of Gerard Butler’s Evil Twins production shingle, Butler was starring as an assistant D.A. who found himself in the center of a traumatized victim’s vigilante plot. When Darabont’s name became attached, the vigilante had been replaced by a criminal mastermind, who was controlling the city from the confines of his cell. (A good fit for Darabont, who likes a good prison drama.) When Foxx signed on, the plot had shifted back to the vigilante storyline, with Foxx playing the vigilante hellbent for justice.
While this frees Darabont to work on something else, such as his Stephen King adaptation “The Long Walk,” or his long-delayed “Fahrenheit 451,” it’s a disappointing blow to the film. This is Butler’s first producing gig, and it can’t feel very good to lose your director weeks before you were planning to start shooting. And where does it both leave Butler and Foxx, who may have passed on other roles for this? Who will take the director’s job, and how fast can they hire him or her? So many questions, so few answers.

Seriously?!
Butler Kicks Butt -- LAPD Investigates We've learned Gerard Butler is under criminal investigation for allegedly assaulting a photog.
It allegedly went down early Tuesday in L.A. Gerard was leaving Crown Bar at 2:00 AM and got into his limo. The photog claims he was following Gerard's limo in a car, when the limo suddenly stopped. Gerard supposedly got out of the limo, approached the photog and asked why he was tailing him.
To that, the photog says he responded, "Hey, that's my job." Gerard allegedly then reached in the car, grabbed the photog's throat and and punched him three or four times. Butler allegedly then kicked the car and again punched the photog three or four times -- close-fisted -- for good measure.
The photog went to the hospital for stitches and then filed a police report. The LAPD confirms they're looking into the case and plan on interviewing Gerard.
No immediate comment from Gerard's people.
update:
http://www.tmz.com/2008/10/08/witnesses-say-gerard-was-provoked/
Sources tell us witnesses have now come forward with a very different account. They are saying the papper was tailing Gerard for hours. And, they say, the photog was driving "recklessly" as he "chased" Butler's limo, almost hitting several pedestrians. The photog says he endangered no one.
The witnesses say after Gerard allegedly got out of the limo and struck the photog in the face, the photog continued following Butler for more than an hour before going to the hospital. But the agency the photog works for says Gerard struck the dude at 1:45 AM and he was at the cop shop at 2:10 AM.
And, we're told, the photog spoke with a civil lawyer before contacting cops.
Personally I want to wait to hear the story from Gerard or his reps before I pass judgment.
